Seven Mill Models was formed in 2012 by John Fowler, a highly successful Kent-based, paper merchant by trade, but also a passionate O gauge enthusiast with a specialised interest in the LNER.
John became frustrated at the lack of ready-to-run locomotives available for the traditional three-rail market, so he decided to produce his own. He cut his teeth on a joint project with Ace Trains London which resulted in the highly acclaimed Gresley N2, 0-6-2T locomotive, with a distinct nod the Hornby Dublo version of the same loco.
In 2012 WJVintage and Seven Mill Models partnered up to launch an all-metal cast O gauge girder bridge which also took inspiration from the Hornby Dublo version. Later that same year John commissioned ETS Prague and DJH Engineering of Consett to jointly produce ready-to-run B1 and B17 locomotives. WJVintage and Raylo were appointed the exclusive sales agents for the models and thus began a fruitful partnership with Seven Mill Models that endures to this day.
Seven Mill Models locomotives offer the very best mechanism available produced by ETS, coupled to a cast metal body produced and finished by the renowned UK manufacturer of finescale O gauge batch-built and kit locomotives, DJH Engineering. The result is a smooth running, highly accurate and expertly finished (in the UK) model at a fraction of the cost of a similar finescale model. The locos are suitable for two- or three-rail operation on a wide variety of course scale track including traditional Hornby tinplate and steel, plus Bassett-Lowke raised centre third, and also modern Maldon, Peco SM32, Merkur, Atlas, Lionel and MTH.
The range has developed over 6 years and now includes B1, B17, V2, A1, A2, Ivatt Class 2, Class 03 Diesel and A4 Pacific locomotives. WJVintage and Raylo are exclusive suppliers of the entire Seven Mill Models range
